What to expect
Honest work, start to finish
During the copper shortages of the late 1960s and early 1970s, many Jacksonville homes were built with aluminum branch circuits. Aluminum expands and contracts more than copper and reacts with brass screws — over time, connections loosen and overheat. The CPSC has linked unremediated aluminum branch wiring to a higher risk of fire.
You don't need to rewire the whole house. A proper retrofit at every aluminum-to-copper connection eliminates the risk permanently. We use the two CPSC-recognized fixes: COPALUM™ crimps — the gold standard, requiring a manufacturer-issued tool and a certified installer — and AlumiConn™ connectors, which are faster in tight boxes. We carry both and recommend based on space, budget, and how many devices need work.
You get an on-site assessment with photos, a written quote with a per-device count, a JEA-coordinated permit, and an insurance documentation package when the work is done.

Aluminum Wiring questions
How do I know if my house has aluminum branch wiring?
Homes built between roughly 1965 and 1973 in Jacksonville often have aluminum branch circuits. You can sometimes see 'AL' stamped on the cable jacket in the panel. The safest move is a licensed inspection — call us and we'll confirm in 15 minutes.
Is COPALUM or AlumiConn better?
Both are recognized by the CPSC as permanent fixes. COPALUM™ is a special crimp that requires a certified installer and a manufacturer-supplied tool — it's considered the gold standard. AlumiConn™ is a purple connector that's slightly faster to install. We're certified in both and recommend based on space in the box, budget, and how many outlets need work.
Will my homeowner’s insurance care?
Many Florida insurers will not write a new policy on a home with unremediated aluminum branch wiring. We provide documentation suitable for your insurer — that is often the trigger for the project.
Do you fix every outlet or only the bad ones?
We fix every aluminum-to-copper connection — outlets, switches, fixtures, and the panel. Spot fixes leave the rest of the house exposed and don't satisfy insurance.
